Also Install at every location where a rafter crosses the top plate at the wood wall, and at the rafters not addressed with stainless steel strap over the I-beam, install 1 Simpson HGA10 with 8 fasteners. B) North & South Sides - Fasten 1 new hurricane strap to the face of the existing straps with (3) 12 — 14 Hex Tec screws. Bend straps over top of rafter and fasten with 4 # 12 screws. C) West Side - Install a custom designed and built steel angle -iron strap assembly that will secure the 3 member girder rafter just inside the west fascia and the first full rafter east of the girder assembly. - This assembly will be bolted to the existing W-4 I -Beam that runs between the girder and the rafter with one (1) 3/8" bolt, secured with 2 nuts (see attached drawing). There will be a minimum of 20 of these brackets installed approximately every 3 linear feet.
