Motion seconded by Ms. Mercado and unanimously approved. Ms. Dorney related that the recent Tree Lighting was a tremendous success. Upcoming events include Plaza 98’s Sip, Shop & Celebrate and the Menorah Lighting. Santa Express is also scheduled; due to the demand, this year there will be two routes/trucks/Santas on each of the scheduled two evenings. Discussion turned to a wish list for Council candidates. Mr. Ise noted that due to the culture of the community, dramatic change would be difficult. Mr. Ise would also like to include a network of bike lanes and a new recreation center. Ms. Piper suggested adding the need for green space in the wish list. Ms. Dorney noted that charrettes would be needed to see the desires of community. Mr. Ise added that some residents may be uncomfortable with change and it may be beneficial to have incremental changes at the community center. Ms. Baumann suggested placing an ad in the newsletter so everyone can see the wish list. Discussion turned to the parks master plan. It was noted that the comprehensive plan needs to be decided before discussion of a parks master plan. Mr. Ise added that plans do not do mean anything without implementation. Mr. Ise noted there is $1 million dollars available for rehabbing the seawall but public access is required; for example, ka yak launch, steps, dock option. Committee members suggested having a booth at upcoming events to distribute fliers with a wish list, adding that the focus should remain positive. Ms. Dorney will discuss this idea with the Village Manager before proceeding further. The meeting adjourned at 8:00 p.m.
