CONSIDERATIONS • UPDATE BY MSES ADMINISTRATION: Not present At the beginning of the meeting, Ms. Rodriguez announced MSES PTA appointment to the EAB: Sylvie Duerkop. • DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING 2022 MSES PARENT SURVEY RESULTS o Board discussed the timing of the parent survey and how to get more responses by keeping the survey open longer and circulating more. Board discussed having a goal of at least 150 responses before closing the survey. Members can circulate to group chats and classroom chats. Once there are 150 responses the board will consider tentative dates for a larger meeting to address results. o Survey Results thus far  90% of completed surveys were from Miami Shores residents  60% were from parents of elementary and pre-school  Majority of participants assigned to MSES as boundary school  Majority of children are attending private or religious schools  Most important criteria of schools was teacher quality, knowing child is cared for. School grade was not as important.  Sylvie Duerkop made two suggestions: • More concrete action by EAB • Clear messaging about what the EAB stands for  The board discussed the mission of the EAB within the confines of the Compact as well as the idea of having an opportunity to explain the function of the EAB to the members of the PTA. The board discussed inviting the PTA to a future meeting.  Discussion regarding the participants of the survey thus far being mostly all residents who do not currently attend MSES. The goal for the next meeting is to get a greater number of participants and specifically participants who already attend the school to counter the negative perception of the school. • Antonio Netto addressed the ongoing topic of the Cambridge contract coming to an end and what we need to do to continue the program. Dana Vignale will reach out to council member Alice Burch and requested bullet points and questions to be addressed/presented. Additionally, the Village should follow up with a letter/memorandum to the school board. 6. NEW BUSINESS: N/A 7. ADJOURNMENT: 7:15PM
