We inspected the installation of the window frames into the existing precast concrete frames
that are integral with existing masonry structure. The installation of the new windows creates a
gap between the aluminum frame and the concrete frame. As result, a portion of the attachment
screws are exposed at the frame. We recommend filling the gap with a high strength concrete
mix between the aluminum frame and the concrete frame. The aluminum frame is powder
coated which provides a barrier between the direct contact of aluminum to concrete. When the
concrete cures, and the installation screws are secured, the window assembly will able to
withstand the wind pressures as required.
All work will be compliant with the approved plans as well as the 2017, 6'h Edition, Florida
Building Code.
