2019-04-01 RAC Minutes Minutes of the Recreation Advisory Committee held on April 1, 2019. Members present: Jeff Geimer Manny Hadad Julian Montero Jacquelyn O’Donnell Lisa Sotir Members absent: Anna Blackman Karen Smith Gulasky Alise Henry Michael O’Hara Also present: Angela Dorney, Recreation Director Leslie Rackl, Executive Assistant The meeting was called to order at 7:10 p.m. Mr. Geimer made a motion to approve the minutes of the March 4, 2019 meeting. Motion seconded by Mr. Montero and unanimously approved. Ms. Dorney related that one of next year’s capital items is a $10,000 Level 2 fingerprinting system. All capital items have been submitted to the Village Manager who will determine which items will be forwarded on to the Council. The Village Manager or finance director will be invited to the Committee’s next meeting after the upcoming council election. Ms. Sotir noted that many residents are unaware that the Shipwreck Cove slides will be closed for the summer. It was noted the interactive play area of Shipwreck Cove will remain open. The funds for the new structure will come from the general fund. Ms. Dorney said that the pool will be purchasing an inflatable obstacle course that is built for the water; this will provide additional activities at the pool. Mr. Hadad inquired about online registrations. Ms. Dorney will look into the costs involved in adding this to our current recreation software. Mr. Hadad suggested adding additional fees into online registration to cover the added costs. It was noted that the Committee will make their annual presentation to Council in May. Mr. Hadad noted that last year he presented the accomplishments of the past year and the goals for the next year. The meeting adjourned at 7:35 p.m.
