Minutes of the Fine Arts Commission held on March 5, 2019.

The meeting was called to order at 5:45 p.m.
Commission members were presented with submissions from area schools and Brockway
Library for the parking meter contest. The members then made their selections for the winning
submissions.
Discussion turned to the utility boxes. Mr. Clark presented photos from Brothers of Light and
noted that his idea is for the artists to paint the boxes themselves and they will create original
pieces. Mr. Bruce also said that artist Courtney Einhorn inquired about the budget for each
image used. Ms. Ackley suggested advising Ms. Einhorn that the Commission will pay $150
per image for four boxes. Mr. Clark suggested using Ms. Einhorn for all seven utility boxes.
Mr. Bruce said that since Ms. Einhorn’s images are on buses, she may have her own printer
to use. Ms. Rojas said that graphic design studio Cushy Gygs charges $550 per image. Mr.
Bruce suggested considering Brothers of Light for the mural wall in front of Village Hall. Ms.
Rojas made a motion to authorize Mr. Bruce to negotiate a royalty fee of up to $700 for
seven images with artist Courtney Einhorn. Motion seconded by Mr. Clark and
unanimously approved.
Ms. Dorney related that since the Village is required to adhere to county codes, an ADA ramp
is required for the stage and said that, due to time constraints, this weekend’s concert stage
will not be elevated.
