Minutes of the Recreation Advisory Committee held on March 5, 2018.

The meeting was called to order at 7:05 p.m.
Mr. Weber made a motion to approve the minutes of the February 5, 2018 meeting.
Motion seconded by Mr. O'Hara and unanimously approved.
Discussion turned to the new recreation center. Mr. Weber said the two options are to either
replace the existing center or refurbish the existing facility and said he does not wish to
continue discussion on a new center if no one on the Committee wants to proceed.
Mr. O'Hara suggested that when Mr. Hadad gives his report to the Council that he gets
direction from the Council on whether or not the Recreation Advisory Committee should move
forward with discussions on a new recreation center, as a new center is an agenda item each
month. Mr. Hadad suggested that a question be placed on the next ballot to see what dollar
amount residents would vote on for a new center and then determine what priorities are
important in a center based on the response.
Discussion turned to Unity Day. It was related that revenue was the same as last year but
costs have increased. It was suggested moving the event up one hour to 12-4 p.m. due to low
attendance at 11 a.m.
It was suggested finding out if there is interest in starting an adult basketball league, either a 3
on 3 or 5 on 5 league.
The meeting adjourned at 7:45 pm.
