2017-10-2 RAC Minutes Revised Minutes of the Recreation Advisory Committee held on October 2, 2017. Members present: Anna Blackman Dan Brady Karen Smith-Gulaskey Manny Hadad Jacqueline O'Donnell Felipe Villamizar Steven Weber Members absent: Michelle Saporiti The meeting was called to order at 7:05 p.m. Mr. Weber made a motion to approve the minutes of the June 12, 2017 meeting. Motion seconded by Mr. Brady and unanimously approved. Ms. Dorney related that seasonal passes for nonresidents at the aquatic center were not approved. It was noted that Mr. Hadad will speak to the Council about the Committee's objective and their accomplishments. Mr. Hadad said he would like to bring in a professional to speak about the process needed to build a new recreation center. Mr. Brady said that the survey indicated that residents are satisfied with the current offerings at the center. Mr. Hadad indicated the architectural design did not match the results of the survey. Mr. Hadad believes the Committee needs to refresh themselves on the survey again. It was noted that a new lock is scheduled to be installed on the front gate at the tot lot. The lock will match the current bathroom lock. Ms. O'Donnell expressed concern with the traffic around the pump house during travel soccer. A suggestion was made to install 'candle sticks' to slow traffic down. Ms. Dorney said the recreation department is interested is doing more dog friendly events. The Dog Day At The Pool had to be cancelled due to an issue with the pool pumps. Discussion turned to new business. It was noted that new scoreboards are needed on the baseball fields. It was noted that volunteers are needed for the upcoming 5K race. The meeting adjourned at 8:15 p.m.
