A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE VILLAGE
MANAGER OF MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE TO ENTER INTO A
INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT WITH DADE COUNTY AND OTHER
MUNICIPALITIES FOR THE PURPOSE OF OBTAINING A
PORTION OF THE 4t LOCAL OPTION GAS TAX AUTHORIZED
BY SECTION 336.025, FLA. STATUTES.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Dade County has
scheduled for adoption an ordinance, pursuant to F.S. 336.025, imposing
an additional tax on every gallon of motor fuel and special fuels sold
within Dade County, and
WHEREAS, it is recommended to the Board of County Commissioners
that an additional 4¢ local option gas tax be imposed pursuant to Section
336.025, F.S. , and
WHEREAS, an agreement has been reached between the County and
those cities which represent a majority of the incorporated area popula-
tion within Dade County as to the formula of distributing the proceeds of
the local option gas tax, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the Interlocal Agreement the proceeds of the
local option gas tax levied and imposed pursuant to the Dade County ordin-
ance shall be allocated on the basis of 74% (County portion) to the County
and 26% (municipal portion) to be distributed among all the incorporated
municipalities in Dade County who are eligible under Section 336.025(6), F.S.
Net proceeds shall mean that amount of local option gas tax collected by the
Florida Department of Revenue (DOR) less the amount retained by the DOR for
administration as provided in Chapter 215.20 F.S. ; a copy of the Interlocal
Agreement being attached hereto and made a part hereof.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by Miami Shores Village:
Section 1. That the Interlocal Agreement between Dade
County and Miami Shores Village and other
municipalities is hereby ratified and affirmed.
Section 2. That the Village Manager is hereby authorized
and directed to enter into said Interlocal
Agreement in behalf of Miami Shores Village.
Section 3. That a copy of this resolution be delivered to
Metropolitan Dade County.
