A RESOLUTION TO WAIVE BID PROCEDURE FOR THE
INSTALLATION OF A DRAINFIELD AT THE MIAMI
SHORES COUNTRY CLUB.
WHEREAS, in order to purchase an item or service for a
value of $1,000.00 or more it is necessary to require sealed competitive
bidding unless the formal bid process is recommended to be waived by
the Village Manager; and
WHEREAS, it is recommended by the Village Manager that the
formal bid procedure be waived in the purchase of contractual services
to install a new drainfield at the Miami Shores Country Club serving
the lounge; and
WHEREAS, this recommendation is made on an emergency basis
since the present drainfield collapsed and effluent backed up into
the drains , posing a potential health problem for the lounge as well
as ,potentially damaging business; and
WHEREAS, the waiving of bid procedure was necessary in order
to secure the services of a contractor immediately;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the formal bid process
be waived and the same is hereby waived and the Village Manager is
hereby authorized to contract for the installation of a drainfield for
the total price of $1295.00.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 6th day of January, 1981.
