A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING USAGE OF VILLAGE
FACILITIES BY ELECTED AND APPOINTED OFFICIALS
OF MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE, AND REPEALING
RESOLUTIONS NO. 619, NO: 634-77i NO. 647-77
AND NO. 659-78.
WHEREAS, in the past certain privileges have been granted to
elected and appointed officials of Miami Shores Village, and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to establish
limitations in continuing this policy;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE that
the Country Club and pool privileges be established as follows:
1. Each Council member, upon the individual Council
member's request, may receive a free membership to the
municipal pool and the Country Club, which membership
shall exclude free golf cart privileges, during the
time said Council member serves on the Council , and
said privileges shall be extended to each member upon
termination of said Council member's tenure in office
for a period of time equivalent to the time in office.
It is the intention of the Miami Shores Village Council
to terminate all existing free golf cart privileges to
present or former members of the Miami Shores Village
Council .
2. That the members of the Planning & Zoning Board
are entitled to privileges to either social , golf, pool
or tennis facilities, without charge, for as long as
they serve on the Board.
3. That the Village Manager, Village Attorney, and
Village Clerk are granted the privilege to use the
municipal pool and all Country Club facilities, without
charge, during their term of employment.
4. That any pastor, rabbi , or other spiritual
leader of any religious order holding weekly meetings
within the limits of Miami Shores Village shall be
granted a social membership upon application therefor.
This privilege shall likewise be extended to any
pastor, rabbi , or other spiritual leader of any
religious order situated outside of Miami Shores Village,
if said order is comprised of a substantial number of
residents of Miami Shores Village and the spiritual
leader thereof provides invocation services to the
Miami Shores Village Council at the request of the Village
Manager. Any person eligible for this membership may
assign said privilege to an assistant, but there shall
be only one membership per organization. Membership
privileges authorized by this section shall be concurrent
with the term of active service of the applicant.
5. That former Council members of Miami Shores
Village are granted a social membership during their
lifetime.
6. That the honorary privileges granted C. Lawton
McCall , S. A. Senneff, James McLaughlin, Glen E. Byrd,
John McIntyre, Dean Claussen and Gilbert Alexander will
be continued as granted by previous Councils.
7. That the privileges provided for hereinabove
shall extend to each person's family to the same extent as
provided for in the case of a fully paid family membership,
