A RESOLUTION APPROVING RULES AND REGULA-
TIONS APPLYING TO THE OPERATION OF THE
MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE RECREATION DEPART-
MENT BUILDINGS AND PLAYGROUND AREAS PUR-
SUANT TO AUTHORITY OF ORDINANCE NO. 324.
BE IT RESOLVED BY MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE:
That the following rules and regulations established by the Village
Manager under the provisions of Ordinance No. 324 be approved:
1. The recreation buildings and playground areas of the Village
shall be under the supervision and direction of the Village
Recreation Director.
2. Use of the facilities shall be restricted to residents of the
Village; provided that when conditions permit and the
facilities are not overcrowded the Recreation Director
may permit guests of residents to participate in the use
of the playground.
3. When organized athletic teams of the Department are
invited to other places for games as contests the Director
in turn may invite the host team to come to the Village
playground for a return engagement.
4. No games such as tackle football and archery shall be
permitted on the playground at any time unless supervised
under the direction of the Director.
5. Possession or use of alcoholic beverages, narcotics, LSD
or any such drug shall not be permitted on any part of the
Recreation Department premises.
6. All users and participants shall be required to be properly
attired while on the premises.
7. Anyone conducting himself or herself in a disorderly manner
or disregarding any rule or regulation may be ejected from
the premises and refused re-entry for such period of time
as may be determined by the Director.
8. The Director may permit organized athletic teams from
churches or schools to use the facilities in accordance with
the organized schedules, programs and activities as pro-
vided by the Director and under his supervision.
9. The following activities on the playground are hereby prohibited:
(a) The driving or riding of vehicles except for those
used in the maintenance of the facilities.
(b) The driving or hitting of golf balls.
(c) The flying of powered model airplanes.
(d) The walking or exercising of dogs or other animals.
(e) The possession or use of air rifles, sling shots,
knives or any other type of dangerous weapon.

M Throwing or breaking glass bottles.
(g) Climbing high fences, back stops, buildings, depart-
ment equipment or throwing rocks at trains.
10. Participant Insurance:
Before participating in organized team activities individuals
shall be required to carry medical and accident insurance
as may be prescribed from time to time by the Director.
11. Normal Hours of Operation:
COMMUNITY CENTER
(a) Weekdays . . . 9:00 a, m. until 6: 00 p. m.
7:30 p. m. until 10:00
Saturdays . . . . 9:00 until 12:00 noon
Sundays . . . . Closed
(b) Evening events terminated not later than 11:00 p. m.
(c) Closed - 2nd and 3rd week in August
(d) BASKETBALL COURTS
Weekdays . . . 8:00 a. m. until 10:00 p. m.
(.After dark - courts must be under lights and supervision)

(a) During the public school terms:
