R-514-70 RESOLUTION NO. 514 A RESOLUTION REQUESTING METROPOLITAN DADE COUNTY AND THE BOARD OF PUBLIC INSTRUCTION TO LOWER MILLAGE RATES FOR REAL AND PERSONAL PROPERTY THROUGHOUT DADE COUNTY FOR 1970. WHEREAS, assessments of property for tax purposes have been revised throughout Dade County, Florida; and WHEREAS, the revision has resulted in an approximate overall increase of assessments of 32%; and WHEREAS, it appears that the millage rate could be sub- stantially reduced under the present rate without any reduction in the amount available for taxes for public purposes; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE: That the County Commissioners of Dade County, Florida, and the Board of Public Instruction of Dade County, Florida, be requested by means of this Resolution to make every effort to adopt a lesser millage rate for the year of 1970 than that which was in effect for the year 1969; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be sent to the following: Members of the Dade County Commission and the Dade County Board of Public Instruction.
