R-480-68 RESOLUTION NO. 480 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CONSTRUC- TION OF NEW RECREATIONAL FACILITIES ON THE VILLAGE PLAYGROUND. WHEREAS, a Council Committee composed of Dean R. Claussen and James A. Dixon, Jr. , along with five other citizens, namely, Joseph Dugoni, Dean Miller, Donald McIntosh, Sidney Reese and Donald Stobs, have made a study of the building needs for playground activities and on January 9, 1968, at an informal conference with the Village Council, made certain oral recommendations, and WHEREAS, it is the intent of this Council to approve said recommendations; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: Section 1. That the Committee be authorized to divide the proposed program into two parts, the first being the construction of a field house located on Block C of Miami Shores Section #4, being on the east side of N. E. 7th Avenue across from the end of N. E. 98th Street and the area designated "Park" on the plat of Miami Shores Section #4. Section 2. That the said Committee be authorized to employ an architect of its choosing at a fee of not to exceed the A. I. A. published schedule of architect's fees. Section 3. That the Village Attorney is hereby instructed to determine the possibility of replatting Block 105, Block 108 and Block C of Miami Shores Section #4, as recorded at Plat Book 15, Page 14, and to include the streets dividing these blocks, all into one playground plat. Section 4. That the Village Manager is hereby instructed to recommend ways and means of financing the said field house and also a plan to finance a future building to be known as the second part of this program and to be located near 96th Street.
