A. RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE
OF 5. 42 ACRES OF LAND LYING NORTH OF THE
COUNTRY CLUB.
WHEREAS, the owners of Bessemer Properties Incorporated.
sponsored the creation of Miami Shores Village and. in 1937 made it possible
to construct a municipal golf course and club house by the loan of cash and
donation of land.; and.
WHEREAS, a part of said cash was used. to purchase 12 acres
of land along Biscayne Boulevard to be used. as a part of the golf course
property; and.
WHEREAS, it was thought at that time that 5. 42 acres of said.
land. would. not be needed for golf course purposes and. Bessemer Properties
allowed. a 'pro rata credit on the mortgage on the golf course in return for a
deed to said. 5. 42 acres; and
WHEREAS, it has now been determined. that the aforesaid land.
is necessary for the proper development of the recreational facilities
furnished. at the Country Club and that its acquisition as hereinafter provided
for is desirable.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY MIAMI SHORES
VILLAGE:
1. That the Village Manager is hereby authorized to offer
Bessemer Properties on behalf of the Village $141, 300 for the 5. 42 acres
described as Tract 31A. in Plat Book 40, Page 9, Public Records of Dade
County, Florida, to be paid. for in twenty equal annual payments beginning
February 1, 1968 with interest at 4%.
2. That, if the above offer is accepted and. approved by
both parties, the Village Attorney is authorized. to prepare the necessary
Certificates of Indebtedness and. take the necessary steps to have them
validated. Said Certificates to pledge golf course excess revenues above
operating costs, and also pledging power franchise revenue as additional
security, but no pledge of taxing power of the Village shall be included..
PASSED and. ADOPTED this 17th day of January, 1967.
