R-376-57 RESOLUTION NO. 376 A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THAT THE DADE COUNTY COMMISSION CONSIDER THE CONSTRUCTION OF A BRIDGE OVER BISCAYNE CANAL AT N. E. 107th STREET WHEREAS, N. E. 107th Street is the boundary line between Miami Shores Village, Biscayne Park and a large section of unincorporated area, and WHEREAS, there is not now a through street connecting Bis Icayne Boulevard and N. E. 6th Avenue for a distance of several miles reaching from N. E. 96th Street to N. E. 125th Street, and WHEREAS, the construction.of a bridge at N. E. 107th Street would greatly relieve area traffic congestion at the N. E. 6th Avenue bridge that crosses Biscayne Canal, and WHEREAS, such a,bridge would- reduce the danger to a large number of school children who walk or ride bicycles across the 6th Avenue bridge, and WHEREAS, such a project should be classified as of areawide importance; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE: That the Dade County Commission be and is hereby requested to take the necessary .action to construct said bridge across Biscayne Canal at N. E. 107th Street and thereby open up said street for vehicular and pedestrian traffic. UNANIMOUSLY ADOPTED this 6th day of August, A. D. 1957. Mayor ATTEST: . • f Clerk
