R-352-55 RESOLUTION NO. 352 NOW, WHEREAS, the Commissioners of the City of Miami, Florida did on or about July 1, 1953, adopt Resolution No. 25684 creating a Board to study the Municipal and County governments in Dade County and draft a plan for the Consolidation, Merger, Federation or Re-organization of, or changes in, said government; providing for referenda on said plan by the electors of the governments affected thereby; NOW, WHEREAS, pursuant to the passage of the aforementioned Resolution a Metropolitan Miami Municipal Board was appointed and did study and unanimously adopt a resolution recommending that certain changes be made in the governments of the metropolitan area of Greater Miami; NOW, WHEREAS, subsequent developments have made it impera- tive that this Board continue to function and whereas the funds originally appropriated by the City of Miami are exhausted, it is incumbent upon the various governments of the affected area to contribute their pro-rata share of funds for its continuing studies. BE IT RESOLVED THEREFORE, that the Council of the Village of Miami Shores does hereby authorize the expenditure of $325. 00 out of its contingency fund for the use of the Metropolitan Miami Municipal Board to use as the Board deems advisable for the completion of these studies and/or dissemination of the information gathered therefrom for the enlightenment of the general public. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the members of the Council of the Village of Miami Shores axenot at this time taking any official stand, either collectively or individually on the merits or the outcome of these studies. We merely desire to carry our share of a project which we feel directly affects the entire area and therefore must be considered a community project for the benefit of all residents of the metropolitan area of Dade County.
