R-307-50 RESOLUTION NO. 307 WHEREAS, the Dade County Juvenile Council have recommended and urged upon all Dade County Municipalities that they ban the showing of the pictures of Ingrid Bergman, including "Stromboli," if necessary passing ordin- ances for that purpose in the interest of public morals and decency; BE IT RESOLVED BY MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE: That the highly publicized adultery and infidelity of this movie character, based on recent public disclosures, should be banned from all American theatres in order to further protect and safeguard the morals of American children who are tempted to emulate the life and character of so-called, highly advertised and publicized movie stars. RESOLVED FURTHER that the moving picture industry should be penalized, both by public condemnation and through financial loss in its box office receipts for featuring publicly acknowledged dissolute characters for the entertainment of the American public. RESOLVED FURTHER that it is extremely difficult to preserve decent standards of morality in our younger generation, if moving picture theatres present such type characters whose immoral exploits are now publicly known and for which apparently there is no expressed shame or regret, all of which is a stench in the nostrils of all decency loving citizens and particularly those interested in the welfare of youth.
