SAS* such a complete water control system, including the con- servation areas, would aid in the protection of coastal water supply from intrusion of salt waters from the ocean, improving the supply of water for both domestic and agricultural uses, and, WMWAS9 additional benefits would accrue to the urban areas by reason of a more constant water level west of the coastal ridge affecting a moderation of extremes of temperature; the prevention of recurrent Glades fires that blanket coastal communities with the noxious smoke of burning peat soils; and promoting the return of South Florida's now seriously depleted wildlife resource, NON.
