R-259-43 Notice by ffiiami Shores Village Council (pursuant to resolution of January 19, 1943) of Intention to Apply for: the Amendment of the Charter of said Village by a Special Act of the 1943 Session of the Legislature of Florida. The proposed Special Act sought by said Council is as follows: AN .ACT TO AMEND CHAPTER 18698, ACTS OF 1937, WHICH WAS ENTITLED- AS FOLLOWS: "AN ACT RECREATING, CONFIRMING AND CONTINUING MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE, A MUNICIPAL- CORPORATION IN DADE COUNTY, FLORIDA; ENLARGING ITS BOUNDARIES AND POWERS; PRESCRIBING QUALIFICATIONS OF ITS ELECTORS; RATIFYING ALL TAM LEVIED AND ACTS DONE BY ITS '0FFICERS; CONSOLIDATING, SUPERSEDING AND, AMENDING PRIOR ACTS AFFECTING SAID VILLAGE, INCLUDING CHAPTERS 15689y 15690, 16568, 17610,9 LAWS OF.-FLORIDA,, (ACTS OF 1931, 1933, 1935: AND REPEALING ALL LAWS SO FAR AS INCONSISTENT WITH THIS ACT;, SAVING ALL RIGHTS, MEDIES' AND DEFENCES,OF SAID VILLAGE;"DECLARING A,RULE OF CONSTRUCTION; AND RELATING GENERALLY TO SAID VILLAGE", BY AUTHORIZING AND EMPOWERING SAID MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE TO ESTABLISH AND MAINTAIN, A PUBLIC LIBRARY AND PUBLIC LIBRARY SYSTEM, AND TO LEVY .A SPECIAL TAY NOT EXCEEDING ONE MML, UPON THE REAL AND PERSONAL PROPERTY THEREIN, FOR THE PURPOSE OF ESTABLISHING AND MAINTAINING SAID PUBLIC LIBRARY AND PUBLIC LIBRARY SYSTEM IN SAID MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF FLORIDA: Section 1. Miami Shores Village, by and through its governing body, the Council.y is hereby authorized and empowered to establish,and maintain a public library and public library system in said Miami Shores Village. That the proposed Special Act, hereinafter set out in full, if passed by the Legislature of Florida at its 1943 Session, will be of great benefit to the inhabitants and property owners of said Village. 2. That the Senator and Representatives from Dade County are requested to introduce and seek- the passage of said Special Act, which amends the Charter of said Village. 3. That the Attorney for said Village is hereby directed to cause to be published once, within seven days hereof, in the Miami Daily News, the following notice, which contains the full title and text of the proposed Special Act: NOTICE by Miami Shores Village Council of Intention to apply for the Amendment of the Charter of said Village by a Special Act of the 1943 Session of the Legislature of Florida.
