O-601-97 ORDINANCE NO. 601-97
AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF MIAMI SHORES
VILLAGE, FLORIDA, EXTENDING THE EXISTING MORATORIUM ON THE
ISSUANCE OF PERMITS FOR WIRELESS TRANSMISSION AND TOWER
FACILITIES WITHIN THE MUNICIPAL LIMITS OF THE VILLAGE
THROUGH JANUARY 31, 1998; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on January 7, 1997, the Village Council passed, on second reading,
Ordinance No. 596-97 imposing a six-month moratorium on the permitting of any request
for placement, construction or modification of wireless transmission and tower facilities,
which moratorium was extended through October 31, 1997, by Ordinance No. 599-97,
passed on second reading on July 1, 1997; and
WHEREAS, the Village Council of Miami Shores Village, Florida, finds it necessary
to further continue and extend the moratorium in order to complete its study and to obtain
input from consultants and potentially affected parties in regard to the drafting of proposed
regulations;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF MIAMI
SHORES VILLAGE, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The Village Council of Miami Shores Village, Florida, incorporates by
this reference the findings of fact set forth in Section 1 of Ordinance No. 596-97.
Section 2. The Village Council of Miami Shores Village, Florida, hereby continues
and extends the moratorium on the issuance of permits for wireless tower and transmission
facilities imposed by Ordinance No. 596-97 through and including January 31, 1998.

Section 3. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon passage.
Passed on first reading this 7' day of October, 1997.
Amended and passed as amended on second reading this 21st day of October,
1997.
