AN ORDINANCE OF MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE,FLORIDA,AMENDING THE
PORTION OF SECTION 7-2 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF MIAMI SHORES
VILLAGE, FLORIDA PERTAINING TO THE NUMBER OF PERSONS APPOINTED
BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL TO THE ELECTION BOARD, PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, The Dade County Elections Department supervises and oversees all Miami
Shores Village Council elections; and
WHEREAS, The Dade County Elections Department stipulates the number of election
judges required for each election based on the number of registered voters;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF MIAMI
SHORES VILLAGE, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. Section 7-2 of the Code of Ordinances of Miami Shores Village, Florida reads as
follows:
At least thirty (30) days before an election the council shall appoint not less than four(4)
or more than ten(10)discreet persons as election judges, each of whom shall be a
qualified voter and not a candidate,nor pecuniarily interested in any question to be
submitted at the election, and they,with the village clerk, shall be the election board and
shall conduct the election, and before leaving the polling place shall publicly canvass and
certify in writing the results thereof by duplicate certificates over their signatures.
SECTION 2. Section 7-2 of the Miami Shores Code of Ordinances shall stand amended to read
as follows:

SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall become effective upon adoption.
