AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SUBPARAGRAPHS (4) (f) , (4) (g) and
(4) (h) of SECTION 225 OF MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE ORDINANCE
NUMBER 270, AS AMENDED, BY REDESIGNATING SAID
SUBPARAGRAPHS TO BE SUBPARAGRAPHS (4) (g) j' (4) (h) and
(4) (1) RESPECTIVELY; ESTABLISHING NEW SUBPARAGRAPH (4) (f)
TO INCLUDE APPROVAL OF METAL OR FABRIC ROOFS FOR PORCHES,
PATIOS AND CARPORTS UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS; AMENDING
SECTION 1002 THEREOF BY ELIMINATING REQUIREMENT THAT
NOTICE BY MAIL BE REGISTERED; PROVIDING EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE:
SECTION 1 . Subparagraphs (4) (f) , (4) (g) and (4) (h) of Miami
Shores Village Zoning Ordinance No. 270, are hereby redesignated so
as to be identified as (4) (g) , (4) (h) and (4) (i) , respectively.
SECTION 2 . Paragraph (4) of said Section 225 shall stand amended
to include a new subparagraph (4) (f) which shall read as follows :
(f) Metal or fabric roofs are permitted to cover porches, patios
and carports in residential districts, providing:
(1) The structure is located in the rear of the building and
shall be situated so that it is between the prolongations of the
sidelines thereof and,
(2) The metal or fabric roof material shall be colored by a
factory process and shall be harmonious in color with the main
building, and,
(3) The area covered by the metal or fabric roof shall not
exceed 15% of the ground area of the main building, or, a maximum
of 300 square feet, which ever is greater.
SECTION 3 . Section 1002 of Miami Shores Village Zoning Ordinance
No. 270 reads as follows:
The planning board shall set a time for a public hearing on
any proposed amendment initiated as provided in Section 1001 and
shall give such notice thereof as may be prescribed in the rules of
the board. If the proposed amendment consists of a change in the
boundaries of any district, such notice shall consist of sending by
registered mail notices of the proposed amendment and of the
hearing to all owners of land comprised within the proposed change
and of all land within a distance of five hundred (500) feet from
the exterior boundaries thereof, as the addresses of such owners
are shown on the latest tax assessment rolls of the village
SECTION 4. Section 1002 of Miami Shores Village Zoning Ordinance
No. 270, shall stand amended to read as follows :

U.S. Mail notices of the proposed amendment and of the hearing to
all owners of land comprised within the proposed change and of all
land within a distance of (500) feet from the exterior boundaries
thereof, as the addresses of such owners are shown on the latest
tax assessment roll for the Village.

SECTION 5 . This Ordinance shall become ef f ective on the date of
adoption.
