O-492-86 ORDINANCE NO. 492-86 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 20-17 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE, FLORIDA; REQUIRING PROPERTY OWNERS TO MAINTAIN THE UNPAVED PORTION OF ABUTTING STREETS; PROVIDING EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE, FLORIDA: Section 1. Section 20-17 of the Code of Ordinances of Miami Shores Village, Florida, reads as follows: RESERVED Section 2. Section 20-17 of the Code of Ordinances of Miami Shores Village, Florida, shall stand amended to read as follows : (a) It shall be unlawful for any owner of property in the Village to allow the parkway portion of an abutting street to be or remain in such condition as to make the use thereof unsafe or dangerous. (b) Said property owners shall be responsible for the maintenance of the parkway abutting his property. This shall include mowing of grass, trimming of shrubs, and removal of trash and litter but shall not include trimming of trees. Parkway is defined as that portion of the street not paved and maintained by Miami Shores Village. (c) Property owners may pave a portion of the parkway abutting their property if approval of the Building and Zoning Director is granted after his evaluation of drainage and traffic considerations. The Building and Zoning Director will set the standards of paving each property owner must meet. Section 3. This ordinance shall become effective upon adoption.
