O-464-84 ORDINANCE NO. 464-,9�4 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ARTICLE I OF SECTION 20 OF MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE CODE OF ORDINANCES; DEFINING SURPLUS PERSONAL PROPERTY AND ESTABLISHING PROCEDURE FOR SALE THEREOF. BE IT ORDAINED BY MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE, FLORIDA: Section 20-9, Article I of the Miami Shores Village Code of Ordinances is hereby amended to read as follows: Section 20-9 (1. ) Definition: Surplus property is any item of persoH—ai property owned by Miami Shores Village which is no longer of use to the Village due to age, condition or absence of a current need as same is from time to time determined by the Village Manager. (2 . ) Sale: Surplus property with an estimated value of less than $1, 000. 00 may be sold by negotiation at the discretion of the Village Manager. (3 . ) Surplus property with an estimated value in excess of $1, 000. 00 shall be sold to the highest bidder in response to an invitation for sealed bids which invitation shall include the reservation of the right to reject any and all bids. (4. ) Notwithstanding any other provisions herein to the contrary, motor vehicles may be used in trade for replacement vehicles. (5 .) Surplus personal property may be sold by public auction in lieu of the foregoing except that the sale of surplus personal property with an estimated value in excess of $5, 000 . 00 shall require prior approval of the Village Council. (6 . ) No surplus personal property may be sold to a Village employee or member of his immediate family except by a sale based upon sealed bids provided there is at least one other bid received from a bidder who is neither an employee of the Village nor related to a Village employee.
