O-463-84 ORDINANCE NO. 463-84
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE SCHEDULE OF REGULATIONS
BEING A PART OF ARTICLE IV OF APPENDIX A-ZONING,
MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE CODE OF ORDINANCES, IN REGARD
TO OFF STREET PARKING SPACE FOR DWELLINGS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE:
Section 1. That the Schedule of Regulations , a part of Article IV
of Appendix A-Zoning, Miami Shores Village Code of Ordinances,, reads as follows
with reference to off street parking for dwellings:
OFF STREET PARKING SPACE
OFF STREET LOADING SPACE
For dwellings:
Minimum: One space for each plot.
Maximum: Space for 3 vehicles on any one plot.
Location: On the same plot with the dwelling to which
it is appurtenant and, unless provided in a completely
enclosed garage attached to the dwelling and complying
with all the regulations applying to the dwelling, all
parkinq space on the plot, whether enclosed, partially
enclosed, or unenclosed, shall be located in conformity
with the regulations applyinq to accessory buildings;
provided that no motor vehicles except those of temporary
guests shall be permitted to stand in any place other
than a parking unit complying with all the provisions
of this ordinance, and no commercial vehicle (other than
one commercial vehicle of not exceeding 3/4-ton capacity
on any plot if housed in a completely enclosed garage)
shall be permitted to stand in any place except temporary
while in connection with going to or from a use existing
in the district.

Section 2. That the Schedule of Regulations, a part of Article IV
of Appendix A-Zoning, Miami Shores Village Code of Ordinances , is hereby amended
to read as follows:with reference to off street parking for dwellings:

OFF STREET LOADING SPACE
For dwel 1 i ngs:
Minimum: One space for each plot, enclosed or open.
Location: On the same plot with the dwelling to which it
is appurtenant and, unless provided in a completely enclosed
garage attached to the dwelling and complying with all the
regulations applying to the dwelling, all parking space on
the plot, whether enclosed, partially enclosed, or unenclosed,
shall be located in conformity with the following setbacks -
side 10 ft. , rear 5 ft. , front 25 ft. , with the following
exceptions:
(1) approval of site plan by the Planning Board, and
(2) approved configurations of parking, circular and/or
perpendicular shall be as follows: a. circular
drives shall be within side setbacks and no wider
than 12 ft. and shall be extended to the public
right-of-way; b. parking perpendicular to
front and rear property line shall be no
wider than 25 ft. and shall be extended to
the public right-of-way.

Materials, area: Concrete, asphalt and/or masonry products,
specifically not to include any loose material such as
gravel or mulch; permitting no more than two spaces of
a maximum size of 10 ft. x 25 ft. each. Public concrete
sidewalks shall be increased in thickness from 4 in. to
6 in. where abutting improved parking area or driveway.
Temporary parking: No motor vehicle except those of temporary
guests shall be permitted to stand in any place other
than a parking unit complying with all the provisions
of this ordinance.
Commerical vehicles: (Other than one commercial vehicle of
not exceeding 3/4 ton capacity on any plot if housed in
a completely enclosed garage) , shall not be permitted
to stand in any place except temporary while in connection
with going to or from a use existing in the district.

Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon
its passage.
