O-411-79 ORDINANCE NO. 411-79 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SCHEDULE A OF SECTION 20-20 OF ARTICLE II, OF MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE CODE OF ORDINANCES; INCREASING EXCISE TAX ON ELECTRICITY, METERED GAS, BOTTLED GAS, AND TELEPHONE SERVICE; PROVIDING EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE: Section 1: Schedule A of Section 20-20, of Article II of the Code of Ordinances of Miami Shores Village provides as follows: Schedule A: To be used when the seller, in accordance with his rules and regulations, renders a bill monthly or oftener to the purchaser to cover purchases made during the period of time to which the bill is applicable. The amount of the excise tax shall be: Ten per cent (10%) of the first twenty-five .dollars ($25.00) of the total amount, exclusive of governmental charges and taxes, shown on any such bill as being due and payable on account of such purchases, plus Five per cent (5%) of the next fifty dollars ($50.00) of such total amount, plus One per cent (1%) of any sum in excess of seventy- five dollars ($75.00) of such total amount. Section 2: Effective October 1, 1979, Schedule A of Section 20-20 of Article II of Miami Shores Village Code of Ordinances shall be, and the same is, hereby amended to read as follows: Schedule A: To be used when the seller, in accordance with his rules and regulations, renders a bill monthly or oftener to the purchaser to cover purchases made during the period of time to which the bill is applicable. The amount of the excise tax shall be: Nine per cent (9%) of the first one hundred dollars ($100.00) of the total amount, exclusive of government charges and taxes, shown on any such bill as being due and payable on account of such purchases, plus Five per cent (5%) of the next one hundred ($100.00) of such total amount, plus Two per cent (2%) of any sum in excess of two hundred dollars ($200.00) of such total amount.
