ORDINANCE NO. 285
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 270,
BEING THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF MIAMI SHORES
VILLAGE, AS FAR AS THE SAME APPLIES TO LOTS
22 AND 23, BLOCK 16 AND LOT 15 AND THE WEST
ONE-HALF OF LOT 16, BLOCK 33, MIAMI SHORES
SUBDIVISION, AND PROVIDING FOR THE IMPROVE-
MENT OF PARKING LOTS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE:
Section 1. That Ordinance No. 270 and the map accompanying
same be amended in the following respects, that is to say:
(a) That Lots ZZ and 23, Block 16 and Lot 15 and the west
one-half of Lot 16, Block 33, Miami Shores Subdivision, now
zoned R-18. 5 be also zoned X-Supplementary Parking.
Section 2. That none of the property in the X-Zone shall be
used for vehicular parking until the following improvements have been
provided:
(a) When it is proposed to use any portion of the zone for parking
the sides abutting residential property shall be enclosed with
masonry walls of five feet in height except that where the end
of a wall abuts a street, the final 25 feet of the wall shall be
gradually tapered to a height of three feet. Entrance and exit
openings may be provided in the walls that abut streets. Land-
scaping shall be provided along said walls according to a plot
plan that has been approved by the Planning Board.
(b) Parking areas shall be paved with not less than six inches
of approved pit rock base and covered by not less than one inch
of asphaltic concrete surfacing; said paving shall include the in-
stallation of drainage facilities so that all rain and surplus water
will be disposed of within the confines of the particular property.
Section 3. That wherever a portion of a lot zoned for B-1
is used for parking there shall be erected a wall, as required in Section 2. ,
along the border of said portion of a lot facing an alley that abuts a
single family home.
Section 4. In all other respects said Ordinance shall remain
unaffected by this amendment.
Section 5. This ordinance shall become effective immediately
upon its passage.
