AND ACCEPTING THE REPORT AND CERTIFICATE OF
THE BIECTION JUDGES OF MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE
AS TO THE RESULT OF THE FMULAR EIECTION TO
DETEFD= THE SUCCESSM CANDMLTES TO FILL
THE THM VACANCIES ON MI= SHORES VILLAGE
COUNCIL HELD IN SAID VITJ ON JUNE 17* .1947-
WIMTMAS. on JUne 17, 1947s, a regular election to nam three
members for Miami Shores Village Council to succeed Howard Parishq Sames
Co Kilburns. and MZ.. Reynoldsq was duly held in Miami Shores Village in
accordance with the laws and ordinances of the Village and of the State of
Florida* and
WEERZAS* at said election qualified electors of
said Village voted therein#, and
WHEREAS9 the election judges. have filed their report of the
result of said eleetiong and
WHE1718, the Council has duly and regularly canvassed the
results of said electiont, and as a result of such canvass. has ratified#
approved and certified the result of said election as made by said election-
Judges-s, and
WHEREAS9, the result of said election discloses the following
number of votes cast as hereinafter shown opposite the names. of the respective
candidates as followss

Frank E* Lautz 417 Votes
Roy Mackenzie 746 Votes
Howard Parish 540 Votes
M.E.(Duke) Reynolds 560 - Votes
Roy To Schneider 355 Votes

by reason of having received the largest number of the majority of votes cast
are duly elected as members of the Miami Shores Village Council for terms of
four years eachq beginning June 17* 1947, and ending on the third Tuesday in
Tunes, 19519 and
Howard Parish by reason
of having'received the third highest number of the majority of votes
casts is duly elected as a member of the Miami Shores Village Council for
a term of two yearss beginning June 17* 19479 and ending on the third Tuesday
in Junes 1949*

SECTICIT 1* That the certificates, and the report of the
election judges containing the returns of the election held in Miami Shores
Village on June l7w 1947, to name the successors to Howard Parish$ James Ce
Kilburng, and M, E, Reynoldss, as members of said Village Coui-icilq and con-
taining the number of votes cast for the candidates named thereing, bes,
and the same is hereby acceptedq ratified and approveds, and after having
duly and regularly canvassed the returns of said elections, the same are
hereby certified to be true and correct as follows:

by reason of procuring the highest number of the majority of the votes cast
at said elections, are hereby declared to be duly elected members of Miami
Shores Village Council for terms of four years eachq. beginning June 170 19479
and ending on the third Tuesday in Junes 1951&
SECTION 30 That Howard Parish by reason of pro-
curing the third highest number of the majority of the votes cast at said
elections, is hereby declared to be duly elected member of Miami Shores Village
Council- for a term of two yearss, beginning June 179, 1947s, and ending on the
third Tuesday in June, 19490
