Section- 4 That Beetiom 5 Miami Shores Village Ordinance
No* 122 be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows
"At least thirty days before aoL electioug
the Council shall appoint four' discreet persons as
election- judges* each of whom shall be qualified
voter and not a eandidateg, n= pecuniarily interest-
ed in azW question to- be submitted at the eleetiong
and theys with the village clerks shall be the
election board and shall conduct the electiong and
before leaving the polling place shall publicly
canvana and certify in writing the results thereof
by duplicate certificates over their signatures# and
before entering an their duties they shall make oath
that they will honestly and fairly oonductq canvasa
and certify the results of the electiong provided that
one member of the board at a time may absent himself
not exceeding forty—five minutes at meal-times*
In the event of inability or refusal of any of the
persons so appointed as eleetiom j3idges to act#-. and if
another meeting of the Council shall not intervene
between-the existence of such inability and the holding
of the electiomjthe Mayor is authorized and direate&-
to fill. the vacancy so existing by appointment from
among the qualified electors. of the Village. The judges,
shall be paid $44,00 each per day for their service&.$
