O-161-46 (2) MIAMI SHORES �VILLAGH ORDINANCE NO* AN- ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE HANDLING OF GkRBAGgp REFUSE AND OFFAL IN THE CITY OF MIAMI SHORBSa MAKING PROVISION FOR ITS DISPOS" AND IMPOSING A PENALTY FOR VI � TION OF SUCH ORDINANCE* BE IT ORDAINED BY MIAMI SHORES VILLAGEt Section le Prom the effective date of this Ordinance, every person who shall have any garbage, offal or refuse to be disposed of shall provide himself with a suitable and substantial container into which he shall deposit such matter. Said containers shall have a cover which shall. be kept tightly closed and said containers shall be kept in a place where the con- tents may be easily collected* Section - 2. There is hereby imposed on each person who shall have anT such garbage., offal or refuse, a tax or Twelve ($12*00 Dollars per year, which shall be paid without notice or demand to Miami Shore Village., on or before the lot day of January of each year, beginning with January lsto 19470 which tax is hereby levied for the purpose of defraying the expenses of collooting such matter., provided that nothing herein contained shall relieve any person of thepayment of such garbage collection tax for the balance of the year 1946, which shall continue to be collectible as may now be provided by Ordinancee Section - 3. Any person who shall violate the provisions of this Ordinance shall . be punished by a fine not exceeding Fifty ($50,00) Dollars.. or by Imprisonment and hard labor for a period not exceed- ing thirty (30) days., or both by such fine and imprisonment* Section - 4* The provisions of this Ordinance shall if possible be hold to be severable, Section - 5. This Ordinance shall be effective :L=odiately upon its passage* Ordinance No* 36 is hereby repealed* UNANIMOUSLY PASSED AND ADOPTED this day of August.. 1946, ATTEST: VILLAGE-,MANAGER A CLERK
