O-143-45 MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE ORDINANCE NO. AN ORDINANCE RATIFYING., APPROVING,, CANVASSING AND ACCEPTING THE REPORT AND CERTIFICATE OF THE ELECTION JUDGES OF MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE AS TO THE RESULT OF THE REGULAR ELECTION TO DETERMINE THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES TO FILL THE THREE VACANCIES ON MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE COUNCIL HELD IN SAID VILLAGE ON JUNE 190 1945, WHEREAS.. on June 19,, 1945.. a regular election to name three members for Miami Shores Village Council to succeed Marion Bo Arnold, Oscar Eo Dooly, Jr*, and Walter Go Earnest, was duly held in Miami Shores Village in accordance with the laws and ordinances of the Village and of the State of Florida, and WHEREAS., at said election 1015 qualified electors of said Village voted thereins and WHEREAS., the election judges have filed their report of the result of said election, and WHEREAS,9 the Council has duly and regularly canvassed the results of said election, and as a result of such canvass has ratified, approved and certified the result of said elec- tion as made by said election judges, and WHEREAS, the result of said election discloses the following number of votes cast as hereinafter shown opposite the names of the respective candidates as follows : Os6ar E. Dooly, Jro - 395 Walter Go Earnest - 418 M. Po Hurst - 208 James Co Kilburn - �510 Marshal Go Luce - 314 L* J. McCaffrey - 546 W. H* McKee - 524 and WHEREASp L* Jo McCaffrey and W. H. McKee by reason of having received the largest number of the majority of votes cast are duly elected as members of the Miami Shores Vi llage Council for terms of four years each, beginning June 19, 19450 and ending on the third Tuesday in June, 1949, and WHEREAS., James Ce Kilburn by reason of having received the third highest number of the majority of votes cast, is duly elected as a member of the Miami -Shores Village Council for a term of two years, beginning June 19, 1945s and ending on the third Tuesday in June, 1947* NOW.. THEREFORE., BE IT ORDAINED BY MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE: SECTION le That the certificates and the report of the election' judges containing the returns of the election held in Miami Shores Village on June 19, 1945, to name the successors to Marion B* Arnold, Oscar Eo Dooly, Jr*, and Walter Go Earnest, as members of said Village Council., and containing the number of votes cast for the candidates named therein, be, and the same is hereby accepted, ratified and approved, and after having duly and regularly canvassed the returns of said election, the same are hereby certified to be true and correct as follows : Oscar E. Dooly, Jro - 395 Walter Go Earnest - 418 M. Pe Hurst - 208 James 0. Kilburn - 510 Marshal G. Luce - 314 Lo J., McCaffrey - 546 W. Ho McKee - 524,- SECTION 2o That L* J. McCaffrey and W. Ho McKee by reason of procuring the highest number of the majority of the votes cast at said election, are hereby declared to be duly elected members of Miami Shores Village Council for terms of four years each, beginning June 19, 1945, and ending on the third Tuesday in June, 1949. SECTION 3o That James C. Kilburn by reason of pro- curing the third highest number of the majority of the votes cast at said election, is hereby declared to be duly elected member of Miami Shores Village Council for a term of two years,, beginning June 19, 1945, and ending on the third Tuesday in June, 1947.
