AN ORDINANCE REPEALING MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE
ORDINANCE NO* 120 ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE TO
PhRMIT CITIZENS OF MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE TO
KEEP CHICKENS ON THEIR PREMISES 'IdETHIN THE
VILLAGE LIMITS FOR THE DURATION OF THE PIRES-
ENT WAR; PROVIDING FOR SECURING PERMITS;
PROHIBITING THE SALE OF CHICKENS AND PROVID-
ING THAT NO NUISANCE SHALL BE CREATED BY
NOISEp UNSIGHTLINESS OR UNCLEANLINESS; AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY TO EXIST."
VTHEREAS., the keeping of poultry of any description in
urban areas is considered to be a health menace by the Dade County
Health Department; and
1,1HEREAS., there is no apparent food shortage in Miami
Shores Village; and
WHEREAS
., there is no apparent need to further permit the
keeping of chickens and all types of poultry within the limits of
Miami Shores Village;
NOWs THEREFOREs BE IT ORDAINED BY MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE:
Section 1. That Miami Shores Village Ordinance No. 120
entitled "An Ordinance to permit citizens of Miami Shores Village
to keep chickens on their premises within the village limits for
the duration of the present war; providing for securing permits;
prohibiting the sale of chickens and providing that no nuisance
shall be created by noise, unsightliness or uncleanliness; and
declaring an emergency to exist". is hereby repealed.
Section 2. That citizens now owning and keeping chickens
or other poultry on their premises shall have thirty-days notice
in which to dispose of said chickens and poultry.
Section 3. That all previous ordinances and sections of
ordinance prohibiting the maintenance of chickens and poultry with-
in Miami Shores Village -are hereby declared to be in full force
and effect.

Section 4, This Ordinance shall take effect immedia-
tely upon its passagee
