AN ORDINANCE RATIFYING., APPROVING., CANVASSING AND ACCEPTING THE REPORT AND CERTIFIC.&TE OF THB-- ELECTION JUDGES OF MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE AS TO THE RESULT OF THE REGULAR ELECTION TO DETERMINE TIM SUCCESSFUL CANDID.&TES TO FILL THE FOUR VACANCIES 09 MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE COUNCIL HELD IN SAID VILLAGE ON JUNE 170 1941. WHEREAS., on June 17, 1941, a regular election to name four members for Miami Shores Village Council to succeed Frank 0. Pruitt, John J. Lindsey, Stanley Milledge and F. Scott Kitson, was duly held in Miami Shores Village In accordance with the laws and ordinances of the Village and of the State of Florida, and WHERE", at said election 804 qualified electors of said Village voted therein, and WHEREAS., the election judges have filed their report of the result of said election, and WHEREAS, the Council has duly and regularly canvassed the results of said election, and as a result of such canvass has ratified, approved and certified the result of said election as made by said election judges, and WHEREAS, the result of said election discloses the following number of votes cast as hereinafter shown opposite the names of. the respective candidates as follows: Marion B. Arnold - 502 L. C. Childress - 438 Walter G. Earnest - 710 Julian B. Frix - 693 Evelyn R. McCaffrey- 388 and WHEREAS, Walter G. Earnest and Julian B. Frix by reason of having received the largest number of the majority of votes cast are duly elected as members of the Miami Shores Village Council, for terms of four years each, beginning June 179 1941, and ending on the third Tuesday in June, 1945, and WHEREAS, Marion B. Arnold and L. C. Childress by reason of having received the third and fourth highest number of the majority of votes cast, are duly elected as members of the Miami Shores Village Council for a term of two years each, beginning June 17, 1941, and ending on the third Tuesday in June, 1943. NOW,, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE: SECTION 1. That the certificates and the report of the election judges containing the returns of the election held in Miami Shores Village on June 17, 1941, to name the successors to Frank 0. Pruitt, John J. Lindsey, Stanley Milledge and F. Scott Kitson, as members of said Village Council, and containing the number of votes cast for the candidates named therein, be, and the same is hereby accepted,, ratified and approved, and after having duly and regularly canvassed the returns of said election, the same are hereby certified to be true and correct as follows: Marion 'B. Arnold - 502 L. C. Childress - 438 Walter G.' Earnest - 710 Julian B.' Frix - 693 Evelyn R. McCaffrey- 388 SECTION 2. That Walter G. Earnest and Julian B. Frix by reason of procuringthe highest number of the majority of the votes cast at said election, are hereby declared to be duly elected members of Miami Shores Village Council for terms of four years each, beginning June 17, 1941, and ending on the third Tuesday in June, 1945. SECTION 3. That Marion B. Arnold and L. C. Childress . by reason of procuring the third and fourth highest number of the majority of the votes cast at said election, are hereby declared to be duly elected members of Miami Shores Village Council for terms of two years each, beginning June 17, 1941, and ending on the third Tuesday in June, 1943, SECTION 4. That all of the acts and doings of the election judges at said election in said Village and of the Council in calling the same be, and each of them, are hereby ratified, approved and confirmed.
