AN ORDINANCE AMENDING MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE ORDINANCE NO. 6,, ENTITLED: "AN ORDINANCE IMPOSING OCCUPATIONAL LICENSE TAXES AND RELATING TO LICENSES AND THE EN- FORCEMENT HEREOFt' AND As AMENDED BY MIAMISHORES VILLAGE- ORDINANCE NO. 1'Q - ENTITLED: "AN ORDINANCE AMEND- ING MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE ORDINANCE NO. 61 PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE COUNCIL OF MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE ON THE alL DAY OF 1932, ENTITLED: 'AN ORDINANCE IMPOSING OCCUPAT LICENSE TAXES AND RELATING To' LICENSES AND ENFORCEMENT I.: HEREOFt ,, AND BY THIS ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE LICENSING AND PAYING FOR THE PRIVILEGE OF OPERATING TOURIST -CAMPSq AND PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR FAILURE TO COMPLY THEREWITH" AND BY THIS ORDINANCE IN- CREASING THE LICENSE TAX OF CERTAIN BUSINESSES AND CALLINGS AS PROVIDED THEREIN AND DESCRIBED IN SAID MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE ORDINANCE NO. 62 AND PROVIDINGPENALTY -FOR FAILURE TO COMPLY THEREWITH AND FURTHER PROVIDING FOR ADDITIONAL LICENSING OF OTHER OCCUPATIONS AND CALL- INGS- IN CONNECTION WITH THE -BUILDING AND ERECTING OF HOUSES, STRUCTURES AND BUILDINGS WITHIN MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE AND PAYING FOR THE PRIVILEGE OF THE SAME AND PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR FAILURE TO COMPLY THEREWITH. BE IT ORDAINED BY MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE: SECTION 1. That certain Miami Shores Village ordinance No. 6. entitled: "An Ordinance . Imposing Occupational License T,axes- and Relating to Licenses and the Enforcement Hereof" and as amended by Miami Shores Village ordinance No. 10 entitled: "An Ordinance Amending Miami Shores Village Ordinance No. 6. Passed and Adopted by the Council of Miami Shores Village on the 13thday of May, 1932, Entit.led: 'An Ordinance Imposing Occupational License Taxes .and Relating to Licenses and Enforce- ment hereof' and by this Ordinance Providing for the Licensing and Paying for *the Privilege of Operating Tourist Camps., and Providing a Penalty for Failure to Comply Therewith" be, and the same is h ereby amended and changed to read as follows: (a) "1.28 Electricians $2.5011 as the same appears in Miami Shores Village Ordinance No. 6 aforesaid, be, and the same is , hereby changed and amended to be and read as follows: "1.28 - Electricians, electrical subcontractors and all contractors and subcontractors engaged in electrical work - - $10.00". (b) 111.41 - Plumbers $2.501, as the same appears in Miami Shores Village Ordinance No. 6 aforesaid, be, and the same is hereby changed and amended to be and read as follows: - H1.41 - Plumbers, plumbing contractors or subcontrac- tors - $10.00". That said ordinance as amended as aforesaid to be further amended by the addition of the following: 1.52 - All subcontractors engaged in work and occupation concerning the building of houses and other structures by the perform- ance of certain work th-erein whether plumbing, electricial., st�ne mason. or otherwise - �, __$10.00. SECTION 2. After the effective date hereof it shall be unlawful for any firm or person .to conduct or engage in any business or occupation hereinabove mentioned within the Village without first procuring a license and paying to the Village the license tax herein- above levied and imposed. SECTION 3. Licenses shall be issued by the Village Manager for a period of one year2 November lst, to October 31st, and the taxes shall be payable at his office., on November 1. ofeach year, provided that license taxes for the period from the effective date hereof to November 1. 1932, shall be payable two days after the effective date hereof, and shall be two-thirds of the aforesaid taxes for a full year and license shall be issued for such period. SECTION 4. Application for a license shall be made in writing filed with the Village Manager and stating the name, . domicile, age, principal business address., nature of, business,, how and where the business will be conducted., the person in charge thereof., the character and extent of facilities therefor and such other relevant information as the Village Manager shall require. SECTION 5. Any violation of this ordinance shall be punished by fine, not exceeding twice the legal tax., or by imprisonment on the streets or other works of the Village., or in a jail, for a period not exceeding ten (10) days, and each day on which any of said business shall be transacted without a license and prior payment of tax shall constitute a separate violation hereof. SECTION 6.
