O-006-32 MIAMI SHOREIr VILLAGE$ ORDINANCE NO* 60- AN ORDINANCE IMPOSING OCCUPATIONAL LICENSE TAXES AND RELATING TO LICENSES AND THE ENFORCEMENT HEREOF. BE IT ORDAINED BY MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE: §a.ction 1. All . carnivals', circuses., traveling players or amusement companies*. pipers.- fiddlers., orchestras., grind organ pla7ers. and operators of other' amusement devides for profit, and businesses not- herein specified, shall obtain a. license upon special application to the Council,, and- shall pay such tax 0 -shall be fixed by the Council,,- Upon ,application. -, - Licenses shall be issued by the Village Manager Section 20 for a period of one year,, November 1 to October 31., and the -taxes shall be paydble at his office., November 1 of' each year, provided that license taxes for the -period from the -effective date hereof. to November - 1., 1932., shall be I payable ten days after the effective date hereof and sha�l b6 two-thirds of the aforesaid taxes for a fall -year and - issue licenses shall be d for -sueh period, Section 30 Application for a license shall be made- in writing filed with the Village Manager -and stating the name, domi" cile age, principal business addresso nature of busine ss ! how and where the business will be conducted, the person in charge thereof, the character and -extent of faciliti es therefor- and such other relevant informa tion as the Vil- lage Manager shall require, Section 40- Any Vio-lati On Of this ordinance shall be- punished by fine,, not exceeding twice the legal tax,, o r by Impri- son,- ment on the. str Oats or other .works of the Village, or in a jail for not exe eeding ten -days, and each -day on which any of sa d business shall be tr ansaeted without a"license and prior pa7ment of tax shall constitute a- .sepa rate vio- lation thereof Section 50' The Village Manager, upon approval by the Council, may refuse to issue a license to any person not having adequate' facilities for or who shall not be competent to conduct,, without danger of injury to Village or its inhabitants., the business for which ilicense be applied for and likewise,, upon notice a hearing, may revoke any license (1) if further operation of such busiiiess shall be detrimental to the Village or its inhabitants,, or (2) if the holder of the license shall have been convicted of an offense against ,the Village in connection with the operation or maintenance of the business licensed.- Section 6 ' Each clausev . sentence and phrase hereof is severable from the remainder of this ordinance," Section 70 This ordinance all talm effect, on passage and publication in a newspaper published in Miami$ Florida.
