AN (MDINANGE ADOPTING TEMPORARY CODES FOR BUILDINGS
ELECTRICAL AND PLUMBING WORK9 PROVIDING FOR AN
INSPECTOR AND RKqMRING PERMITS FOR SUCH WORK*
BE IT ORDAINED BY MIAMI SHMW VIIJAGE:
Section I_ por tempcw&ry purposes, the pzovisions of the
building code of the year 1925t now in force In MiaMit
Florida ( excepting speoifi0allY Sections It 2499 240
(8) and any other inapplicable provisions) corLtalued in
ordinance No* of said city in so far as the same are
applicable* are hereby adopted as regulations for and
are declared to be the building code of this Village;
the provisions of the plumbing code of Miami # contained
in its ordinance No. 795 of JTuIY 29 1928 ( excepting
specifically sections 2159 220) in so far as the same
are applioablet are adopted as the regulations fort and
are declared to be the plumbing code of this Village;
and the provisions of the electrical code of Miamit CCU-
tained in its Ordinance No* 8 67 of October 149 19.29 ( ex-
0epting .speoifically Sections 10, 2J 3 9 7 and 19) in so
far as the same are applicable* are adopted as regulations
fort and are declared to be the electrical code of this
Village, Copies ofzaid oodess authenticated by the sig-
natures of the mayor and village manager ' of this Village,
are and shall remain = file in, the office of the village
manager, as the official regulations on said subjects.
Section 2# There is hereby created the office of building
inspector of the 'Village# who shall be appointed by the
Council to hold office during its pleasure and he sball
pass upont approve or disapprove plans and specifications
for all such work as aforesaid* shall Issue permits and
certificates unddr said regulationst may require such
bonds or other security of permittees as shall be ap-
propriate to secure compliance with said regulationzv
and generally he shall perform the duties of building
Inspectors electrical Inspector and plumbing Inspectors
and generally execute and enforce the provisions of said
regulations in so far as the same be applioable to the
Village, 'The compensation of the building inspector
sball be paid wholly from fees for issuance of permits
under said regulationes, but his compensation shall not
exceed yer annume any excess
fees to be retained by the Village., Permits for wo3k
to be done by the building Inspector* or under, his dir-
eotion as a private contractors shall be issued only by
the Counoilo
Section 3* The fees for permits for electrical md plumbing
work shall be as is provided in said ordinances of Miami ,
and the fees for building and repairing shall be as
follows:
Section 4, It shall be unlawful to builds alters repair#
raze or remove 4ny structure or to do any buildings
plumbing # or electrical work In the Villages or to cause
any such work to be done# without first obtaining a
permit therefor in accordance with said regulationst
on written application made and filed with the Village
managers at the same time paying the village manager
the fees in said regulations and herein provided.
Section 5* Upon special application fcr good causes the
Council may relax or suspend the provisions of any of
the aforesaid regulations In any particular instance,,
Section 6, Any violation of this ordinances or of said regu-
lations made a part hereof by reference, shall be
punished by a fine not exceeding $200.00 or by Impris-
onment at hard labor on the streets or other works
of the Villages or in any lawful places or by both
such fine and imprisonment In the discretion of the
Village Judge.
