04-08-2004 Regular Meeting• • 1VIIAMI SHORES VILLAGE PLANNING AND ZONING BOARD Thursday, April 08, 2004 Village Hall Summary of Meeting The Planning and Zoning Board of the Village of Miami Shores held its regularly scheduled monthly meeting on Thursday, April 08, 2004, at the Village Hall. Chairman Richard Fernandez called the meeting to order at 6:50 PM. A. quorum was present. Members Present Richard Fernandez, Chairman Tim Crutchfield Robert Abramitis Members Abgert Cesar Sastre Donald Shockey Planning and Zonu St.k____frPresetit Al Berg, Director of Planning and Zoning Pablo Andrade, Recording Assistant APPROVAL OF THE MARCH 11, 2004 MEETilti1G MINUTES Minutes of the March 11, 2004, meeting were approved with corrections. CODE REVISIONS Signs Mr. Al Berg requested to the Members of -the Board to review and to revise the Zoning code (Chapter 7). He also explained that there is a sigiificant difference between what the drafted code allows in B1 and B2 districts, and that he is not pursuing to outlaw any window signs inany districts, but to restrict the percentage of -window coverage. Mr. Robert Fernandez suggested that the Village's Building Department Officials should use more discretion to make determinations on sign approvals. If applicants are not comfortable with mentioned determinations, they canappeal to the Board. • Mr. Robert Abramitis presented the attached list of proposals on signs for consideration of the Board. After giving proper considerations to each of them, proposal # 2 was passed, with a change, by general consent and it should read as follows: "That the lettering Atli should be no larger than 9 inches" The Board did not reach general consensus op the rest of the proposals listed in the attached list presented by Mr. Robert Abramitis. Mr. Richard Fernandez made remarks in reference to the attendance and punctuality of the Board Members to regular meetings. He stated that all members need to make an effort to arrive on time and to attend the regular board meetings_ In addition, be reminded the Board Members to come properly prepared and ready to discuss the Wage's business. ADJOURNEMNT There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 8:00 PM. The next meeting will be held in the Village Hall at 7:00 p.m. on April 22, 2004.
