PLANNING & ZONING BOARD
REGULAR MEETING SEPTEMBER 8, 1994
The regular meeting of the Miami Shores Planning & Zoning
Board was held on Thursday September 8, 1994. The meeting
was called to order at 7:35 P.M. by Chairman Walters with the
following members present:
Cliff Walters
Charles Smith
Les Forney
Larry McClure
Absent: Robert Blum
Also Present: Mr. Frank LuBien, Director Building & Zoning
1. Minutes - August 25, 1994
Mr. McClure moved to approve the Minutes of August 25, 1994
with the following corrections: Page 1, item 4, last para-
graph on first page Is to read: Chairman Walters stated that
the proposed site would be a good location for the tower in
that it would be unobtrusive. Page 2, Item 4, first para-
graph Is to read: He also stated that the additional re-
venues generated by such a structure coupled with the fact
that the Police Department and Public Works Department could
use the facility at no charge, Indicate that this project Is
clearly in the community's best interest.
Page 2, fourth paragraph is to read: Mr. Fann stated that
the issue of zoning would have to be reviewed.
Mr. Smith seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.
2. Request for approval of plans for flat roof addition
Susan & Brad Fabling

Mr. Fabling explained that the flat roof addition would provide
a covered patio for his wife and 3 children.
After review of the plans, Mr. McClure moved to approve the
plans as submitted. Mr. Smith seconded the motion and It passed
unanimously.

After review of the plans, Mr. Forney moved to approve the plans
as submitted. Mr. Smith seconded the motion and it passed
unanimously.
3. Discussion, and set date for Public Hearing on the
following Ordinances:
Planning & Zoning meeting - 2 - Sept. 8, 1994
ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 518 (b) OF MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE
ORDINANCE NUMBER 270, AS AMENDED; LIMITING AUTHORIZED FENCING
MATERIALS FOR CERTAIN CORNER LOTS; PROVIDING EFFECTIVE DATE.
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 516 (c) (2) a 1; LIMITING LOCATION
OF DISH ANTENNAS TO REAR YARD.
AN ORDINANCE OF MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE, FLORIDA, AMENDING
. PARAGRAPH (4) OF SECTION 225 OR ORDINANCE NUMBER 270, AS
AMENDED; ADDING SUBPARAGRAPH (4) (J) AUTHORIZING THE USE OF
RIGID CEMENTIOUS FIBRE ROOFING SHINGLES INSTEAD OF TILE OR SLATE
IN CERTAIN CIRCUMSTANCES; PROHIBITING THE USE OF FLEXIBLE
LAMINATED FIBERGLASS AND ASPHALT SHINGLES; PROVIDING
EFFECTIVE DATE.
The Board reviewed the proposed ordinances. Mr. Forney moved to
have a Public Hearing held on Thursday, October 13, 1994 in the
Chambers at City Hall. Mr. McClure seconded the motion and it
passed unanimously.
A motion for adjournment was made at 8:20 P.M.
