06-24-1993 Regular MeetingMIAMI SHORES VILLAGE PLANNING & ZONING BOARD REGULAR MEETING JUNE 24, 1993 The regular meeting of the Miami Shores PLanning & Zoning Board was held on June 24, 1993. The meeting was called to order at 7:31 P.M. by Chairman McClure with the following members present: Larry T. McClure Les Forney Tom Laubenthal Cliff Walters Charles Smith Also Present:Mr. Frank LuBien, Director of Building & Zoning 1. Minutes - June 10, 1993 Mr. Watters requested to amend the minutes as follows: page 2 last paragraph to read: A motion for adjournment was made at 7:45 P.M. Mr. Forney moved to approve the minutes as amended. Mr. Laubenthal seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. 2. Appeal of Building Official's denial for an above ground pool permit. Leonard Watson 165 NW 99 Street Mr. LuBien explained that an above the ground pool was not a permitted structure. Mr. Watson stated that the warranty of the pool Is for 15-20 years and therefore would not be unsightly. After further discussion, Mr. Forney moved to uphold the decision of the Building, Official and the request for an above ground pool be denied. Mr. Smith seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. 3. Request For Site Plan Approval Dade County Fire Department 9500 NE 2 Avenue Mr. Gianni Lehmann, Project Development Coordinator and Mr. Taquechel, Architect represented Metro -Dade Fire Department. Mr. Taquechel was asked the height of the structure and he explained that the structure would be higher by approximately 4 feet on the side that the apparatus would be In order for the vehicles to fit in the structure. • • Planning & Zoning Board meeting - 2 - June 24, 1993 After further discussion, Mr. Forney moved to approve the site plan. Mr. Laubenthal seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. 3 A. Request for permission to apply gray cememt tile and paint the tile. Teresa S. Coombs 9707 NE 5 Avenue Road • Mr. Coombs explained that he wanted to place gray tiles on the roof and paint It to match a small existing section which would not be reroofed. Mr. Forney stated that the code of Miami Shores does not permit tile to be painted a different color than it was manu- factured. Roofing tile is to be one color throughout. After further discussion, Mr. Smith moved to deny the request. Mr. Laubenthal seconded the motion and It passed unanimously. A motion for adjournment was made t 8: 0 P i� , i v Veronica A.
