PLANNING & ZONING BOARD WORKSHOP
February 11, 1988
The Muni Shores Village Planning & Zoning Board Workshop convened on
February 11, 1988, at the Miami Shores Village Hall, at 6:30 P.M., with the
following members present:
Robert J. Rossi, Chairman
Terrell F. Chambers, Jr.
Richard M. Fernandez
Thomas Laubenthal
Larry T. Mc Clure
Also present: Frank LuBien, Director of Building & Zoning
Mr, Rossi opened the Workshop for discussion reminding Members the purpose
is, "Amendments to the Village Code to assist Historic Preservation",
Members concurred that Mr. McClure's suggestion of writing a paragraph to
grant variances for Historically Designated properties an excellent idea.
Present for discussion Margo Newton, Chairman & H. D. Gaggstatter of H.P.B.
Following 'much discussion., it was agreed that a new ordinance for variance
should be created, wording follows,
Section 703, Historically Designated.Structures variances.
If the building inspector denies an application for building permit or a
certificate of occupancy for any historically designated building or use that
would he in violation of any of the provisions of these ordinances, and if the
applicant is of the opinion that it is impossible to apply strictly such
provisions to his property because of the existence of historic designation
affecting such property, other than any conditions relating to the financial
circumstances of the applicant, he nay appeal to the Planning & Zoning Board
for variance.

In discussion regarding -this definition., it was agreed that the Historic
Preservation Board should construe the definition of what is Historically
Designated properties and structures. ropose
There will be further discussion to finalize the new ordinance,
