09-12-1985 Regular MeetingMIAMI SHORES VILLAGE PLANNING & ZONING BOARD MEETING September 12, 1985 A regular meeting of the Miami Shores Village Planning & Zoning Board was held on September 12, 1985, at the Miami Shores Village Hall. Mr. Stobs, Chairman, called the meeting to order at 7:40 p.m., (delayed to allow time for any latecomers), with the following members present: J. Robert Stobs, II, Chairman Patrick Duffy Robert J. Rossi J. Leslie Wiesen Absent: Thomas Laubenthal Frank J. LuBien, Director of Building & Zoning 1. MINUTES Mr. Wiesen moved to approve, as written,;:the minutes of the meeting of August 22, 1985, seconded by Mr. Rossi, and carried unanimously. 2. PUBLIC HEARING AMENDMENT TO PROVIDE FOR PROCESSING FEE FOR VARIANCES. Mr. Stobs opened the Public Hearing, reading the notice of Public Hearing as it appeared in the Neighbors, Sunday, September 8, 1985. Mr. Stobs requested the minutes reflect that, no one representing the public attended this meeting, only the Members of the Board and the Secretary were present. Mr. Wiesen reflected that his comment might especially refer to the $50.00 fee, which he feels is most reasonable. Mr. Duffy commented that, the amendment providing for a processing fee was prompted by the manner in which some applications have been presented in the past. A lack of proper documentation, very, very basic drawings, no detail or floor plan, enphasizing the lack of detail. Mr. Duffy further feels the need to present to all applicants a check list of the re- quirements and proper documentation for variance request to be presented to the Board. This is not to say that, he would favor a change to verbage, but rather a format in writing to alert applicants, so that they are prepared when making a request. A good recommendation, agreed upon by all Members. Mr. Stobs noted that, much responsibility lies with the Board, in that, if proper documentation is not presented or details are not complete or in proper order, or not presented within the specified format, there should be refusal to review the request. • • PLANNING & ZONING BOARD -2- September 12, 1985 Mr. Stobs further stated, in reply to query from Members that, the $50.00 fee would apply to cases of appeal but not to requests which are reviewed because of being previously tabled. Following other discussion, Mr. Wiesen moved to approve the Amendment as presented, seconded by Mr. Duffy, and carried unanimously. The meeting adjourned at 8:10 p.m.
