01-13-1983 Regular MeetingMIAMI SHORES VILLAGE PLANNING AND ZONING BOARD MEETING JANUARY 13, 1983 A regular meeting of the Miami Shores Planning and Zoning Board was held at 7:30,p.m., January 13, 1983, at the Miami Shores Village Hall, with the following members present: J. Robert Stobs, Chairman J.S. Palmer Kevin P. O'Connor Roberta Johnson Robert J. Rossi Also present: Frank LuBien, Building Director 1. MINUTES: Minutes of the meeting of December 16, 1982 were approved as written by motion made by Mr. O'Connor, seconded by Mrs. Johnson, and carried.unanimously. 2. REQUEST FOR APPROVAL OF PLANS FOR FLAT ROOF ADDITION WILLIAM T. GREENWELL, 1006 N.E. 97 STREET This request for flat roof addition complies in all respects to criteria set forth in zoning code. It must be approved by Planning Board as the only practical way of putting a roof on this pitched roof structure. Following discussion, the plan for flat roof addition was approved as presented, by.motion made by Mr. Palmer, seconded by Mr. O'Connor and carried unanimously. 3. DISCUSSION - AMENDMENT TO SECTION 518 PROHIBITING DOUBLE FENCING Mr. LuBien noted that items 3 and 4 are on the agenda at the request of the Code Enforcement Board. Facts behind a recent case of existing 4' chain link fence and 6' wood fence, constructed without a permit, and with framework toward neighbor were reviewed by Mr. LuBien. Growth between chain link fence and wood fence is not in control due to double fencing. - 2 - January 13, 1983 Following discussion, the Board felt there was no necessity for action on this item inasmuch as this could be controlled at the time a permit is issued by Code. Enforcement Director. If structure is in violation, the usual ad-thinistrative procedure should be followed. 4. DISCUSSION -AMENDMENT TO SECTION 518 PROVIDING THAT FRAMEWORK OF WOOD FENCES BE PLACED TOWARD INSIDE OF LOT This item was discussed in conjunction with item 3 and decision noted in item 3 applies. 5. DISCUSSION - AMENDMENT TO SECTION. 501 (r) REVIEW AND UPDATE PROVISIONS FOR STORAGE, PARKING OR KEEPING OF BOATS The Board discussed the 20° limitation for storing boats. Mr. Stobs stated this would require a Public Hearing which was set for March 10, 1983 and will be so advertised. The meeting adjourned at 8:30 p.m. Secretary
