04-24-1980 Regular MeetingMIAMI SHORES VILLAQE PLANNING AND ZONING BOARD MEETING April 24, 1980 A regular meeting of the Miami Shores Planning & Zoning Board was held at 7:30 p.m., April 24, 1980, at the Village Hall, with the following members present: Mr. J. Robert Stobs, Chairman Mr. Albert R. Toussaint Mrs. Roberta Johnson Mr. J. S. Palmer Absent: Mr. Gordon H. Moyer, Jr. Mr. Frank LuBien, Public Works Director, was also present. Minutes of the meeting of April 10, 1980, were approved as written by motion made by Mr. Palmer, seconded by Mrs. Johnson and passed. (1) PUBLIC HEARING - PRIVATE SCHOOL ORDINANCE. Notice of this hearing and copies of the proposed ordinance had been sent to the following schools/churches: Advent Montessori, 10390 N. E. 2nd Avenue Shores Academy, 10150 N. E. 2nd Avenue St. Rose of Lima School, 10690 N. E. 5th Avenue Miami Shores Community Church, 9823 N. E. 4th Avenue Miami Shores Preparatory School, 9221 Biscayne Boulevard Miami Shores Presbyterian Church The following were present representing their interests: Msgr. Fogarty, and Sister Rosario of St. Rose of Lima. Mr. Harry Smenner, and the Administrator of the Miami Shores Preparatory School. Dr. Harold Davenport, Community Church/school. Dr. Orin Gardner of the Shores Academy. Rev. Paul Moehlman, Miami Shores Presbyterian Church /school. Following a discussion of the ordinance and how it would affect the present schools, Chairman Stobs asked the representatives of the various schools to compute their school areas to see how they would apply to the standards set up on Page 5 and 6, so that the existing schools could be licensed. The hearing was tabled until the meeting of May 8th by motion made by Mr. Toussaint, seconded by Mr. Palmer and passed unanimously. (2) Report - 215 Grand Concourse. At the request of the Board Mr. LuBien reported on his latest 1 1 4/24/80 -2- conversation with Mr. Zeskind, owner of the residence at 215 Grand Concourse which has been converted into several office rooms. Mr. LuBien showed the Board the sketch Mr. Zeskind had made to indicate the present floor plan of the building which indicated 50% to 60% of the house is being used for an office.
