03-13-1980 Regular MeetingMIAMI SHORES VILLAGE PLANNING AND ZONING BOARD MEETING March 13, 1980 A regular meeting of the Miami Shores Planning & Zoning Board was held at 7:30 p.m., March 13, 1980, at the Village Hall, with the following members present: Mr. J. Robert Stobs, Chairman Mr. Albert R. Toussaint Mr. J. S. Palmer Absent: Mr. Gordon H. Moyer, Jr. Mrs. Roberta Johnson Mr Frank LuBien, Public Works Director, and Mr. William Fann, Village Attorney, were also present. (1) Minutes of the meeting of February 28, 1980, were approved as written by motion made by Mr. Palmer, seconded by Mr. Toussaint and passed unanimously. (2) Request for permit to build on Lot "A", Weeks Subdivision, Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Gardner requested approval to build on this lot as platted for an approved building site although containing only 6,954.33 sq. ft. As previously decided by Council the lots in the Weeks Subdivision should be handled individually on a variance basis. Mr. Toussaint moved approval for this variance. The motion was seconded by Mr. Palmer and passed unanimously. (3) Request by Lawrence K. Hull, 9350 N. E. 9th Ave., for permit to construct a flat roof addition that is in excess of the 15% limitation. Mr. Hull asked for special consideration to construct this flat roof addition with an overage of approximately 198 sq. ft., because it will back up to the recently approved church facility. After a review of the plan Mr. Toussaint moved that it be denied because it did not comply with the requirements of Ordinance No. 403-78. The motion was seconded by Mr. Stobs and passed unanimously. (4) Request was made for permit to replace a wood shingle roof with wood shingles, at 960 N. E. 95th St. Mr. Elmer Gross of Jalco, Inc. requested permit to replace a wood shingle roof on a tool shed and garage with wood shingles, at the home of Mrs. Eugene Blackwell, 960 N. E. 95th St. The Board determined that this reroofing could not be done with tile and approved the request by motion made by Mr. Toussaint, seconded by Mr. Palmer and passed unanimously. (5) School ordinance. The proposed school ordinance was reviewedwith the Village 3/13/80 -2- Attorney. The Board agreed that schools, as proposed by Mr. Fann, should be removed from the R Zone, with the exception of those presently licensed. Mr. Fann will incorporate certain changes for review by the Board at its next meeting. A public hearing on this ordinance was tentatively set for April 10, 1980.
