PUBLIC HEARING
MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE
PLANNING AND ZONING BOARD MEETING
February 15, 1979
A public hearing on a proposed utility shed ordinance was held by
the Miami Shores Planning & Zoning Board at 7:30 p.m. on February 15, 1979,
at the Village Hall, with the following members present:
Mr. Albert R. Toussaint
Mr. Gordon H. Moyer, Jr.
Mr. J. Robert Stobs
Mrs. Roberta Johnson
Mr. J. S. Palmer
Mr. Frank LuBien, Building Inspector, and Mr. 0. Sam Ackley, Village
Manager, were also present, as well as 17 residents.
Prior to the hearing copies of the proposed Comprehensive Plan were
distributed to the Board.
The hearing was opened by Chairman Toussaint who reviewed the require-
ments of the proposed ordinance. Village Manager Ackley explained how this
would affect the present sheds, that we would ask for voluntary compliance for
proper tie -down and setback requirements and that violations would be handled
upon complaints.
The only objection voiced was from Mr. Harry Lance, 430 Grand
Concourse, who argued that existing sheds should be grandfathered in, without
conformity.
Following the discussion Mr. Moyer moved that the ordinance be
forwarded to the Council with the Board's recommendation. The motion was
seconded by Mrs. Johnson and unanimously carried.
The next regular meeting of February 22, 1979, was called for
8:00 p.m. because of the Kiwanis Barbecue.
