(1) A request was made by Tropical Chevrolet, 8880 Biscayne
Blvd. , to add three service bays to their existing building. These bays
would be in a building '30 ft. x 72 ft. attached to the existing service building
on N. E. 4th .Avenue. The plans were reviewed and the Building Inspector
reported that there were no variances involved. Upon motion made by Mr.
Smenner, seconded by Mr. Astor and passed the plans were approved as
presented.
(2) Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Eubanks of 359 Grand Concourse
requested permission to erect a 3-1/2 ft. chain link fence across the front
of their house. The ordinance requires an ornamental iron or masonry fence
in front yards. The request was discussed with the property owners who
had recently purchased the home, which is on a 50 ft. lot, and want to use the
front yard as a children's play area because there is so little rear yard. The
request was denied by a motion made by Mr. Smenner, seconded by Mr. Denham
and passed unanimously.
(3) Mr. Irving Horsey presented plans for a sign, 7 ft. 8 in. by
5 ft. 7 in. , to be erected in front of the Presbyterian Church Chapel on the
north side of 96th St. at 6th Ave. Mr. Denham moved that the Board approve
the sign subject to it being located 25 ft. from 6th Ave. and 25 ft. from 96th
St. The motion was seconded by Mr. Smenner and passed by three votes with
Mr. Horsey abstaining.
