03-27-1969 Regular Meeting•
MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE
PLANNING AND ZONING BOARD MEETING
March 27, 1969
A regular meeting of the Miami Shores Planning and Zoning
Board was held at 7:30 P. M. , March 27, 1969, at the Village Hall, with
the following members present:
Chairman Donald W. Hoefle
Mr. Gordon H. Moyer, Jr.
Mr. Donald W. McIntosh
Absent: Mr. Thomas B. Baden
Mr. Irving E. Horsey
Mr. William R. Bradford, Building and Zoning Director, was
also present.
Minutes of the last meeting of March 13, 1969, were approved
as written by motion made by Mr. Moyer, seconded by Mr. McIntosh and
pas sed.
(1) A request was made by Electro Neon Sign Company to
install an illuminated wall sign on the back of the Publix and Eckerd Drug
stores at 9050 Biscayne Blvd. The zoning ordinance does not cover signs
on the rear of buildings facing a B-2 zone. The Board discussed the problem
of how to handle future request for lighted signs from other stores in this
building, with the idea of permitting something of uniform design. It was
decided to table action on this request so that each member of the Board
will have an opportunity to view the rear of the building for some way to
advertise the business to northbound traffic.
Mr. McIntosh brought up the subject of the onstreet parking on
the south side of the Presbyterian Church across the street from the Baxter
medical building. He stated that the parking stalls were only 7-1/2 ft. wide
and that the striping had been done by the Village, he was told. He stated
the church would like to have the concrete parking strips moved and corres-
ponding wider spaces marked off. The Building Inspector will look into this
and report back.
• The meeting adjourned at 8:20 P. M.
