PLANNING AND ZONING BOARD MEETING
September 26, 1968
A regular meeting of the Miami Shores Planning and Zoning Board
was held at 7:30 P. M. , September 26, 1968, at the Village Hall, with the
following members present:
Mr. Donald W. Hoefle, Chairman
Mr. Gordon H. Moyer, Jr.
Mr. Thomas B. Baden
Mr. Irving E. Horsey
Absent: Mr. Donald W. McIntosh
Mr. William R. Bradford, Building and Zoning Director was
also present.
Minutes of the last regular meeting were approved as written by
motion made by Mr. Moyer, seconded by Mr. Baden and passed unanimously.
(1) A request was made by Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Norman, 157
N. E. 101st Street, to construct a three-bedroom residence on Lot 21,
Block 14, Miami Shores Sub. This is a 50 ft. lot immediately west of 157
N. E. 101st St. which is on 100 ft. No additional land is available on either
side of this 50 ft. lot. Mr. Moyer moved that the Board approve the request
for permit providing a proper elevation is submitted as to height which
should conform to the house on the east and providing further that a satisfactory
front elevation of the house is submitted to the Board and that the plans meet
all structural requirements. Motion was seconded by Mr. Baden and passed
unanimously.
(2) A request for a variance was made by Mr. and Mrs. Wahl
Snyder in the construction of a new home on Lots 1, 8 & 9, Block 1, Belvidere
Park Sub. This is on the north side tan off 94th St. at Belvidere Drive. In order
to save several large trees the houb�e has been placed on the lot so that one
corner comes within 5 ft. of the side lot line along Belvidere Drive. Mr.
Baden moved that the request for the side yard variance be approved. Mr.
Moyer seconded the motion with the amendment that the neighbors to the
north have no objection. The motion was then passed by three affirmative
votes with Mr. Hoefle dissenting.
The meeting adjourned at 8:15 P.M.
