PLANNING AND ZONING BOARD MEETING
March 23, 1967
A regular meeting of the Miami Shores Planning and Zoning
Board was held at 7:30 P. M. , March 23, 1967, at the Village Hall with the
following members present:
Mr. Thomas B. Baden, Chairman
Mr. Gordon H. Moyer, Jr.
Mr. Donald W. Hoefle
Mr. Marion B. Arnold (arrived late)
Absent: None
The minutes of the last regular meeting were accepted as
written without correction or addition.
(1) A request was made by Mr. John E. Olesen, 252 N. E.
104th St. , Lot 6 & 1/2-5, Block 119, _Miami Shores Sub. , to enlarge a
non -conforming garage which necessitates setback variances as follows:
rear 1 ft. setback instead of 5 ft. and side yard 5. 4 ft. setback instead of
the required 10 ft. The Board asked that the adjoining property owners be
notified of this request. Mr. Moyer moved that we table this until the next
meeting so the Board can look at it. Motion was seconded by Mr. Hoefle
and passed unanimously.
(2) A request was made by Dr. and Mrs. Howard, 230 N. E.
105th St. , Lot 9 & 1/2 of 8, Block 120, Miami Shores Sub. , to erect a
canvas carport six feet from the side lot line instead of the required 10 ft.
After some discussion Mr. Moyer moved that this be tabled so that the
Board can view the location. Motion was seconded by Mr. Hoefle and
passed unanimously.
(3) A request was made by Mr. and Mrs. Louis Gentry to
erect a 3 bedroom, 2 bath residence on Lot 17, Block 65, Miami Shores
Sub. , at the southeast corner of 94th St. and Club Drive. This lot has a
65 ft. frontage but the total lot area exceeds the minimum requirement.
All setbacks were met as well as the building cube. Mr. Hoefle moved
that the request be granted. Motion was seconded by Mr. Arnold who
added that the plans are to be brought back to the Building Inspector. The
motion was then passed.
(4) A request was made by Mr. and Mrs. H. Aguirre,
620 Grand Concourse, to erect an addition to their home that will come

within 12 ft. of the rear lot line, requiring a 3 ft. variance. After some
discussion Mr. Arnold moved that the 3 ft. variance on the rear be
approved. Motion was seconded by Mr. Hoefle and passed 3/1 with Mr.
Moyer dissenting.
The meeting adjourned at 8:45 P. M.
